BIO

Caroline has eleven years professional experience in project management, training, research and marketing. She is sole proprietor of Ebony Development Associates. She worked at several international large NGOs in the US, Canada and Africa. Her consultancies, many long-term, have taken her to countries in sub Saharan Africa, Middle East and the Caribbean.

Caroline has worked and lived in Benin, Egypt and Niger for a number of years managing development finance projects. Ebony has carried out assignments for corporate foundations, private sector contractors and non governmental organizations in Afghanistan, Jamaica, Nigeria and Haiti.

Caroline has completed doctoral course work and her major field exam in Comparative Politics Developing and at the Gender and Women’s Studies Institute at the University of Toronto. Her main research interests include commercial bank down-scaling, private sector development and Black women’s entrepreneurship. She has a MPA from Cornell University (US), a LL.B from University of Canterbury at Kent (UK) and a BA in economic development from Saint Mary’s (Canada).

Courtesy of a Fulbright award, Caroline will be based in Jamaica in 2009.
